Funny Win Story - Our Final Little Moment of WIN

Well, IMMDers, this is where we say goodbye.

As we announced last week, “It Made My Day” will no longer post new content to its front page. We have loved reading your stories throughout the years, and we appreciate all of your support.

With the launch of Cheezburger Sites, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to share your little moments of WIN with the world. Below are a couple of amazing examples of what you can do with Cheezburger Sites:

“Poetry LOLs”

“Of Hopeful Things”

If you have a Cheezburger Site you’d like to share with the IMMD community, feel free to leave a link in the comments. If you’d like to make your own Cheezburger Site, you can get started here.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Sincerely,
The Staff of IMMD

Dog saves woman’s life, being honored today

John Benton was leaving for work one morning last July when Titan, the family’s dog, blocked the doorway. Benton said the dog was running in circles and up and down the stairs trying to tell him something was wrong. Benton followed Titan up the stairs and found his wife Gloria on the floor bleeding from her head. She had suffered a brain aneurysm and had fallen and fractured her skull. Doctors said she might not have survived had Titan not alerted Benton.

Now, the Vintage Point Neighborhood Association is awarding Titan the title of “Neighboor of the Year.” He is both the first dog and the first male to receive the honor.

Jessica’s Little Moment of Win

Oct. 25, 2011

Today was the final day of my nursing practicum, and a lot of us decided to go out for lunch to celebrate. I didn't have the money to buy a meal, so I just drank some water and talked with the others. When their orders came and they saw that I had no food they insisted on sharing with me, and everyone pitched in a bit of their meal. Not leaving hungry, and seeing how awesome my classmates are totally MMD!

Two-week-old girl, mom rescued from Turkey quake rubble

Rescuers in Turkey pulled a two-week-old baby girl alive from from the wreckage of a collapsed apartment. They were trying to find survivors from an earthquake that killed at least 432 people. Rescuers cheered as the baby was removed and handed over to a medic.

The baby’s mother and grandmother were also found alive. The mother had been pinned next to a sofa, clutching the baby to her chest when rescuers reached them. Onlookers broke out into jubilant cries when they saw the family had survived.

“It’s a miracle!,” said Senol Yigit, the uncle of the baby, Azra, whose name means “purity” or “untouched” in Arabic. “I’m so happy. What can I say. We have been waiting for two days. We had lost hope when we first saw the building,” he said sobbing.
