Classmates back autistic boy for homecoming prince

Mark Fitzpatrick is a sophomore at Tesoro High School. He is autistic and mentally disabled, and loves the social scene at school. Since he gets along so well with everyone, his friend Kylie Leggett thought he would be the perfect Homecoming Prince. After getting permission from his mother, Kylie nominated Mark and started a Facebook group urging their classmates to vote Mark for Homecoming Prince.

Last Wednesday, both Kylie and Mark were called out of class and told they had been voted prince and princess. Now when they see each other in the hall, Mark calls her Princess Kylie and himself Prince Mark.

“He’s like freaking out,” Kylie says. “He’s getting really excited. It’s like so cute.”

Today, after a long and stressful morning with school and family my friend decided to take me biking. instead of just a nice bike ride, he took me up to a mountain and we biked down the mountain with an international pro! My friend noticing that i had a bad day and helped me really MMD :D

The Thespian troupe at my school cleans up after every home football game. Needless to say, this can be gross, but after homecoming (the worst) a little girl came out of nowhere and helped me pick up pistachio shells. Someone asked me if she was my sister…I didn't think of the perfect response until afterwards, but here it is: "No, but I'd be proud of her if she was." Her generosity made my day.

After working several weeks of 13 hour days at my school (I'm a band teacher and play director) one night my wife made me an amazing dinner, and then watched some of our favorite shows with me. Her just hanging out with me and getting time to cuddle the one I love totally MMD

My school has a strict uniform dress code, and once a month we have a non-uniform day. For the day, I wore a green shirt with black eyes and mouth (a Creeper from Minecraft) As I was walking down the hall, I heard someone go, "Ssssssss" at me. IMMD!

My 10 yr old has Downs and has recently discovered that he loves music. His older brother was teasing him (and me) about our choice in music, which is very eclectic. I told big brother that we like anything even Elvis. I put my phone on youtube and my little one and I proceeded to rock out and dance to Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog and Jailhouse Rock all the way to school. Having a 50's dance party in the car on the way to school with my son totally MMD.
