I work as a monitor on a special needs bus. One of my students uses ASL to communicate, and I've been trying to teach him my name for weeks. Today his aide from school walked him onto my bus and said that he'd been signing all about all day. Knowing he'd learned my name, MMD.

Today after doing storytime, for a small group of kids at work. I had a little boy come up to me, give me a hug, and say thank you for the stories! It totally MMD!!

At the blood drive yesterday, a woman had her maybe 8 year old daughter with her. The girl watched what was done to her mother and I overheard the dialogue:
D: Does this hurt?
M: No, it doesn't.
D: Mom, please promise that it doesn't hurt you!
This level of compassion MMD, and all the other's present there, too.

Yesterday, while at the salon, the aesthetician pulled me aside and asked if she could “play” with my makeup while I was waiting. I spent the next 20 minutes getting stellar advice, the nicest compliments I’ve ever received about my skin and facial structure, and a free application of very expensive makeup. Finding out that even a professional thinks I’m beautiful (when I’ve always hated my skin) really MMD! (And the new cut/color turned out great too!)

New Zealand Penguins in Need of Sweaters
A yarn store in New Zealand is making an unusual effort to save the penguins affected by the recent oil spill. Skeinz, located in Napier, New Zealand, posted a request on their website for people to send in knit sweaters for the penguins. They included instructions and pattern ideas. They have received piles of sweaters from around the world and it’s already helping penguins survive.
When penguins get oil on their feathers, it allows water to penetrate to their skin making them very cold. The sweaters keep the penguins warm until they can be cleaned.
“It’s really precious and overwhelming,” the store posted on their blog.
