I’ve always wanted to do something BIB for New Year, but every year I am too lazy and disorganized and by the time it comes around, my friends all have separate plans and the “big idea” gets left for another year. Today I just booked a flight to go out from the UK to Spain and spend the New Year with my girlfriend who currently lives there. Knowing that I will get to be with the girl who changed my life this year at the stroke of midnight totally makes my 2011 and 2012.

Blind cat returns home after owner’s year-long Internet search to find missing pet

Karen Hansen lost Sammie, her three-year-old gray and white cat, in October 2010. She searched for a year, putting up posters, and posting Sammie’s picture all over the internet. Last Sunday, Hansen received a call from a woman in Borough Park, Brooklyn who believed Sammie was in the pack of strays she fed regularly. The woman came across Sammie’s picture, while searching the internet for homes for the stray cats.

Hansen was skeptical at first. Her last few tips had ended in disappointment. But, she says, when she got out of the car, the first thing she said was “That’s Sammie.”

“It was amazing. My face hurt from smiling,” she said.

My boyfriend is color blind because of damage done to his eyes at a young age. Sometimes, he'll see color for a few minutes. It happened for the first time since we'd been together, and he quickly grabbed me. I asked him what he was looking at, and he just said "I want to always remember what color your eyes are." It made me blush, and totally MMD!

100-Year-Old Marathoner Finishes Toronto Race

India-born Fauja Singh became the oldest person to complete a full distance marathon when he crossed the finish line in Toronto on Sunday. It took him more than eight hours to complete the race. By the time he reached the final few hundred yards, workers were beginning to dismantle the barricades. Still, his coach and translator, Harmander Singh says Fauja is overjoyed.

“Beating his original prediction, he’s overjoyed,” Harmander Singh said. “Earlier, just before we came around the (final) corner, he said, ‘Achieving this will be like getting married again.’ He’s achieved his lifelong wish.”

Fauja says he hopes his next project will be participating in the torch relay for the 2012 London Olympics.

This year I’m a senior in marching band. We got a new band director this year and none of us were sure how we were going to do this year. For months we thought the new director was a complete joke. This weekend, we went to a competition and for the first time in our school’s history, our band got grand champion on the day. Knowing that I was one of the people to make that possible made my entire senior year.
