I had a hip replaced last year. After the operation scar healed and the muscles started to get strength back I revelled in being able to walk without pain and started to move around in ways I hadn’t been able to for years before. Because the muscles had not been used much for years it took quite a while for me to be able to bend and stoop. The hardest thing for me was to put on and then tie my own shoes, and I still had to get my bedridden partner to help with all that. Then yesterday I managed to do it all by myself! A small victory, you may think, but I’m not looking back and IMMD!

My sister had hip replacement surgery so I know some of what you’ve been through – congratulations on your shoe milestone – that is DEFINITELY a big deal!!! I hope the rest of your recovery goes well too!
Regaining Independence and being able to do normal things again is hardly a little thing, original poster.
Congratulations!
This is, without a doubt, a big deal! Congratulations!
I agree, it’s HARDLY a little thing! I’ve had 3 pretty big surgeries and regaining my independence after each one felt SOOOOOOOO amazing! Congratulations!
It’s the small things in life that have some of the biggest impacts. A perfect example is your victory over the shoe.
I’m happy to hear of your recovery and I wish you well.
