I had a hip replaced last year. After the operation scar healed and the muscles started to get strength back I revelled in being able to walk without pain and started to move around in ways I hadn’t been able to for years before. Because the muscles had not been used much for years it took quite a while for me to be able to bend and stoop. The hardest thing for me was to put on and then tie my own shoes, and I still had to get my bedridden partner to help with all that. Then yesterday I managed to do it all by myself! A small victory, you may think, but I’m not looking back and IMMD!
