It Made My Day

Rich’s Little Moment of Win

I found an envelope outside my train station with a letter and $2 inside. The letter reads, “Loose Change the World – This money was left here specifically for your use. I know it’s not much – perhaps just enough to treat yourself to a cookie, coffee, a lottery ticket, a donation to the homeless, a new pair of socks. In …any case, I hope it “changes” your day for the better.” WIN and IMMD.

So what did you do with it, OP?

  5. Lily says:

What a great idea to brighten someone’s day. The down votes just want to screw up the ratio.

  6. Dizzy says:

Definitely one of my top 5 wins (that I’ve read) of all time! I’ve been inspired to do this now!
And I second Nana’s question: what did you end up doing with it?

  7. zappafrank says:

I’m thinking you should donate it, unless you yourself need it really badly.

  8. OtterAbroad says:

what an awesome random thing. I love it!

That’s pretty cool. What did you do with it?

I had a grouchy friend named Roger who did something like this all the time. If he know his (grown up) son or his wife were having a bad day, he would drop a crumpled up dollar or two while walking through the yard or shop. He know one of them would find it and their day would be just a little bit brighter.

    I loved Roger :-)

  12. InaneMundane says:

    This story made my day.

  15. Bloodytrailz says:

In Vancouver BC canada there was a whole family

(Father, mother, and 2 children, aged 15 and 17 IIRC maybe younger don’t exactly recall)

But every week they would all place 20$ around the city or something like that, in small bags of change (usually amounting in 2-5$ per bag) with a little note similar to this, they’ve done it for quite awhile now (over a year) and when i read that story in the paper, i was quite impressed with how some people can be truly decent =P

Every year on my dad’s death anniversary, my mom buys food from McDonalds and we drive around all afternoon giving food to the homeless. It gives me such joy when I see the happiness on their faces, and I make a promise to myself that I’d do it once in a while but I never did.

      • asu sual says:

Yeah, but yer Dad only dies once, but spose if you get newer ones and they do the same you could get moo bund alover the place

    • asu sual says:

  16. annie says:
