I was sitting at my computer when I saw something small and white go by my door. The president of my company then followed it carrying a golf club. He saw me and said, rather sheepishly, “Just ignore that small white mouse that just ran past.” IMMD.

Yes, ignore the round, dimpled mouse that missed my coffee cup…>> <>
I found this really funny. It’s not every day someone’s boss gets caught in the act.
By the way, ‘bemused’ means totally oblivious. I’m only stating this cause the name doesn’t seem to fit the situation. still pretty funny, though.

to cause to have feelings of wry or tolerant amusement
Nitpick much? Who cares? It’s just a user name. Your user name has nothing to do with the context of your response.
Bemused, I found this hilarious. I literally laughed out loud.
I love harmless, goofy work randomness (I could really use some right about now, actually… Hmm, what can I instigate?…)
Actually, bemused means confused, lost in thought etc., which is perfect for the situation.
Nitpicking fail.
Bosses get to do that.
And BTW, the connotation of “bemused” is somethat different for the strict definition. I think OP used the term just fine.
@fraoch I was thinking exactly the same thing, haha!
