People underestimate the charm of a run-on sentence. I think it really helps your message get across. /sarcasm.

Seriously. A semicolon would have done it.

Take a sad song and make it better~ cheers!

  15. Patrick says:

That would have been awesome to experience. Especially the “Naaaa-na-na-na-na” parts. If I was there, I would have done that part at the top of my lungs.

Anyone who gave this a thumbs-down, or doesn’t like the Beatles, doesn’t know good music. They wouldn’t know good music if it came up and slapped them in the face, bent them over a barrel, and had its way with them.

  16. cTo says:

If they started playing Bollywood songs, maybe everyone would have broken out in dance.

Way back in an era called the 80′s I was a tourist taking the Staten Island Ferry to kill time on the 4th of July. There was a guy playing the guitar in the seating area and not getting much attention. I asked him if he knew The Who’s “Squeezebox”, which he did, I asked him to play. I started singing rather loudly (Had some liquid courage). People started gathering around, in fact the seats were all empty. As I didn’t really know all of the choruses I stopped singing and someone said, “Hey, it’s my daughters birthday, lets sing Happy Birthday” and we did, then you hear an older Italian gentleman start saying “I pledge allegiance…” (If you heard him you knew he was Italian) and this big crowd of people started saying the Pledge of Allegiance. I swear right after the fireworks started and you could see the Statue of Liberty behind scaffolding (Being worked on at the time). It was awesome.
I wish I was there for the subway sing.

  23. Hi folks – it’s great to find folks talking about these underground happenings! (I’m one of the band members).

The clip embedded above is from a MEETLES show back in February (I believe February 6th). This was really the first weekend when the whole sing-a-long craze started up in earnest.

The MEETLES play each weekend at different subway stations (this Saturday we’ll be at Times Square again). Please check meetles.com for a list of upcoming appearances.
