I work for the dean of a prestigious college. I just peeked out of my office to see her standing stock-still with an odd expression on her face. When I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I’m afraid that, if I move, I’ll pee in my pants." I couldn’t stop laughing and IMMD.

The pelvic floor issues and stress incontinence that often come on with mid-life are not that damn funny. I suppose you’re at the age where you think that stuff like that will never happen to you. Don’t bet on it.
This happens to my mom often. It’s not funny. It’s actually distressing and upsetting for her.

Oh my, i never thought about this as a medical problem until i read the other comments–i just pictured myself when i’m in that position. I hold my “peace” for hours until i simply *can’t* anymore and end up in a mad, fussy dash to the restroom. I’m still LOLing at myself doing that, but i do feel bad for it being someone else.
