I’ve been trying to get my electricity hooked up for over 2 months now. When I called the electric company today to let them know the house was finally ready, instead of the normal 4 day wait, they told me that everything was good to go! The guys had left three hours before I called! IMMD!

When you tried calling them, you did it wrong. You’re meant to yell, “HEEEEEEEEEEEEY YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU, GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYS!!!!!”
Next, you show up at their offices doing the Truffle Shuffle.
I had about six months of mostly solo work on mine before it was all renovated, inspected, and permitted to have electricity connected. I didn’t have quite your luck (right at the end, they sent a meter reader instead of a line truck, so I had to wait even a few more final hours, hehe), but being able to turn on a light switch and have something happen was *AWESOME*.
Of course, it may have been even better a couple months later when the plumbing and gas finally passed final. Heat, hot water, and a working stove? It made my house.
