I was at the Smithsonian Air and Space in Washington D.C. with my grandparents when my grandpa pointed to an airplane. He told me that is the original airplane that my mom flew on when she was a baby. He even pointed to the area of the plane on where she sat. IMMD…love it

Which plane was it?
I wish I could tell you but I honestly do not know. I was too busy laughing when grandpa told me.
aww, didn’t have the heart to tell him he was pointing at a car.
Stories like this are truly unexpected awesome – and worth handing down as treasured memories.
Pretty damn cool, IMO.
Really true, LeAnne?
Yes, it is true. This was in 2000. I just looked at my grandpa and started laughing. Every now and then (mainly on mom’s birthdays) I bring it up to her.
How cool is that? Wow!
I’ve heard lots of stories like that at the WWII airshow we volunteer at…guys will say, “I sat RIGHT IN THAT VERY SEAT when I was nineteen!” Those stories rock…thanks for sharing!!
It’s so cool to see how these old guys eyes light up when they talk about flying… you can tell they really loved it.
