I just had the most magical moment with my son. He said “Daddy, this game isn’t working!” I took the Nintendo Game Boy Advance cartridge and blew in it, then gave it back to him. He put it back into the system and it worked. I remember when my Dad used to do the same thing for me. IMMD

I don’t care who you are, EVERYONE remembers doing this!!! This is by far the single greatest thing I have ever read on this site, or on the internet as a whole!
To bad cartridges are going to be a thing of the past, and your own kid won’t be able to as easily share this experience with his own offspring. Well I mean he could try blowing on a disc.

As a quick follow up, now anytime my son gives me his Game Boy Advance SP to play and it doesn’t work he’s like “Gimme it.” I then hand it to him, he proceeds to take out the cartridge and blow on it, then blows in the system. Next he puts the cartridge back in and, lo and behold, it works!
He gets audibly excited every single time too. “DADDY! IT WORKS! I MADE IT WORKS!!”
btw he’s only 3. lol!
