I was in Target shopping for Barbie clothes for my daughter and noticed that some of the outfits were half-price. I asked the nearby saleslady, “Why are those half-price? She looked at me and answered dead serious, “Because it’s winter and those are summer outfits.” IMMD

    That sounds about normal.

  2. halosixx says:

Yeah, they do that in the sping/summer too for winter clothes…

  3. Verv says:

I think the point is that dolls usually don’t care if their clothing is off season or not.
Their owners might, though. I suppose that could explain the sale…

I think what people are missing here is that it is Barbie Toy clothing as opposite to Barbie Brand children’s clothes.

Why does your daughter wear barbie clothes?

  8. Jordan says:

For those who aren’t understanding. The Poster is looking for clothes for her daughter’s doll, and some of the dolls clothes are half priced. Apparently the summer outfits.
Just saying, when I first read it I assumed she means clothes FOR the daughter that were Barbie themed, so I didn’t get it…
I’m assuming i’m not the only one who made that mistake.

    • Paula says:

Of course to completely jive with reality, in January and February it should be impossible to find a coat, because the spring stuff is being put out.

  9. Kirsten says:

    Barbie is serious business!

  10. Mike says:

and what is funny you can’t find a bathing suit in florida in December because that is a seasonable item

  11. zoe says:

it’s because (and I’m taking a guess here) the clothes are from the Summer line, by which I mean Summer is the name of Barbie’s friend.
so the Summer clothes are half price in winter.
    get it?
