This was actually on one of my finals: Test question: What is the difference between Serif and Sans Serif? One of the answer options: Serif is like a policeman. Sans Serif is like a policeman on a beach. IMMD

… I shot the Serif! But I did not shoot the ITC…. – Kitten

Oh, I get it. They’re missing the ”d”
What class was this?
Law. No, I think it’s typography.
Some kind of journalism probably, we had similarly silly response choices in yearbook, and we covered serifs too. Schools require objective exams for every subject. (It got ridiculous in ceramics)
I’d guess typography or design. I had to cover a lot of typography basics in my web design classes… though they never had exams.
wtf?!
Word
Two words
Actually it’s three.
Okay, is it bad that reading this made “Rock the Casaba” start playing in my head and that MMD?
Serif don’t like it…
Yes, I am aware that that isn’t the actual word in the song. Work with me people!
Er… “Rock the Casbah” – damn spell check and not paying attention!
I shot the Serif! But I did not shoot the ITC….
Ohhhhh, Sheriff and Sand Sheriff. Now I see the connection.
This kind of reminds me of my driving permit test. There was a question that said “What does it mean if there is a person wearing sunglasses and using a walking stick?” and one of the answers was “This person is elderly or too disabled to walk without a cane.”
