Incorrect source or offensive?

» 44 High-Fives!

  1. charj says:

¡Sí! Ay dios mio, sí. Una puta grande.

  2. blue says:

    enlighten us non-spanish speakers…

  3. kickass navy wife says:

pretty much she is a stupid b*tch and untalented

  4. Purplecolors says:

    Puta means B*tch or wh*re XD Q

  5. Dinah says:

    puta = whore

  6. Purplecolors says:

**Que bueno que hay otros que lo saben tambien. These are the moments that make me proud to be Latina.

  7. Dave Lambers says:

So your Professor is a jackass then?

  8. Cassie says:

lol i cant believe i knew what most of that meant:)

  9. halosixx says:

While I dont think Miley Cyrus is all that great, I really dont think that was an appropriate remark for a teacher to be making, spanish class or not…

  10. Ummmmmm says:

Hah!! Miley needs to take a short walk off a very short pier. She’s hte debil.

  11. Dribble says:

@ purplecolor puta means whore, perra means bitch.

I find it disgusting that a teacher would say this to a class.

    • Alex says:

Me too, or that any adult would say that about her. Ok, she’s not God’s gift to the music or acting world, that’s for sure, but I’m not sure she’s done anything to deserve being called that. ANd she’s only 17, FFS.

      • Megan says:

Very much so agreed. I can’t stand her but I still find it uneblieveable a “teacher” would say that.

        • Megan says:

or.. unbelievable*… *sigh* long day at work.

          • jimmy joe johnny says:

she is what she is i dont make no diff who says it

            • Gleef says:

It’s not the alleged career choise that’s the concern so much as the
very derogatory language involved. It’s far more appropriate
to say ¿Miley Cyrus es una prostituta?

Besides, foreign language teachers shouldn’t be teaching curse words
to the whole class, they should “accidentally” leave a photocopy page of
them lying around where a student will find it and share it with his
friends. Gives the words a more appropriate and accurate context.

Incidentally, prostitution is legal in Spain, as long as the exchange
is only between two consenting adults. If a third party profits
(pimps, brothels, porn directors, Disney), then it’s illegal.

      • warezIbanez says:

Don’t worry, we’re just calling the shot. Eventually she’ll turn out just as well as every other Disney celebrity.

  12. Anathema says:

Adult… kid… c’mon. That’s just low and unprofessional. There are plenty adults to pick on.

  13. Will says:

come on people. i’m sure it was a high year secondary school class, so like 15-16 year olds. sure it may not have been very PC but it is still kinda funny

    • Ed says:

Usually you have professors in college, not in high school. There are exceptions, yes. But even if it was high school, its unprofessional and the word Puta is considered a curse word. Teachers cussing in high school = worse than professors in college cussing. So actually, if it was in High school, it makes the situation worse.

      • Jiaan says:

Puta isn’t considered a curse word, it’s in my English-Spanish dictionary and theres no *bad* words in school dictionary’s (unless you count ass, referring to a donkey as bad, in which case you need to stop being lame)

  14. Grace says:

    Yeah, pretty much.

  15. jimmy joe johnny says:

big deal a teacher said it oooooooo hes intitled to his opinion just like the rest of us regardless of our profession

  16. Alena says:

Well said IMO. A 16-year-old poledancing? I dread to think what’s next.

  17. Mrs. George Weasley says:

I had such high hopes for her…*rolls eyes.*

    That prof = pure brilliance.

  18. Cam Neil says:

Google translate is your friend, guys.

  19. tahrey says:

So long as that doesn’t mean, via Disney and a couple degrees of seperation, there’s some chance that Hannah Montana = Sheeta…

    My head asplode, yknow?

  20. Lady_cherry831 says:

And on her birthday no less. (That is assuming that you posted this on the same day it happened)

  21. beth says:

    what an asshole.

  22. Hell Yeah is a puta!
Puta is like a bitch, but a very bad ass word in Spanish!!
Pero ella no es solo una puta, es una hija de puta!!
    hahahahahahahahaha!!!
And Everyone who thinks she is not a Puta, You are a Puta too!
    hahahahahahahah!!! xD
    MEXICO RULEZZZ!! :D
    Arriva la Chilanga Banda!

  23. Selene says:

I don’t think this teacher’s behaviour is unacceptable. Yeah, she’s 17… which is legal in some states (even though the legal age is 18 in most). If she didn’t want to be insulted, she shouldn’t take photographs of herself half naked and post them on the internet. And also, anybody that thinks the teacher shouldn’t teach the students bad words should also condemn the English Teacher that I had in high school for making us read the poem, “Miss Havisham” by Carol Ann Duffy which opens with the line, “Beloved Sweetheart Bastard.” And no, it doesn’t mean, “Beloved Sweetheart illegitimate child.” As long as the teacher’s students weren’t likely to go home screaming, “Mommy, do you know what my spanish teacher called my role-model?” I think we’re ok.

    • iseestupidpeople says:

FYI… most states ( in the US ) the age of consent is 16, some 17, the rest 18. at 17 she was legal in all but about 10 states. Would have been nice to make statements that were true while making your point. Bravo on the try tho, execution was a lil shaky. You’re going to have to settle for a 4.6 and a bronze.

  24. Octavio says:

Puta means whore, but here in the hispan countries it means that something went wrong. You say “Puta madre” when something goes bad but generally you don’t say to someone “puta”, you say “tu puta madre” if you want to insult someone, saying that his/her mom is a whore.

    Don’t use this badly… uh nevermind…

  25. Melski says:

I had to google this. but boy was it worth it.
