All this crud about parents palying WoW, whatever. I have something happy to say, that's awesome. I was in a raid once and a similar thing happened, except our raid lead's kid told us to "Lighten up and enjoy the game, and love Jesus!" she was so cute, we had a lot of fun after that!

So correct me if I'm wrong but you're saying that it's not likely that it can be done because your nieces and nephew have bad parents? That has to be the dumbest logic ever. I actually know a lot of gamer parents and ALL of us take great care of our little ones.

BTW, WoW is not to blame for those poor children losing their parents, their home, their utilities, etc. Negligent parenting is to blame and I can guarantee you that if it hadn't been WoW, they would have been ignoring their children for some other reason. You can't blame a game because of a person's bad behavior. When are people going to take responsibility for their actions? It is the PARENTS fault that that happened and since not all parents are bad parents, we can easily conclude that not all parents are as negligent as those parents.

Maybe it CAN be done, but from personal observation, not very bloody likely. My 2 neices and nephew lost their father and step-mother, their home, all the utilities, both parents' jobs, and now live in 3 different states with 3 different relatives because of WoW. I guess, tho, wonderful parenting can be had by MMORPG addicts, bravo to OP for even remembering she had a child!

Your post MMD! I'm a gamer mom too :) I don't play often but I play EQ, tried AION but hubby decided to cancel to go back to EQ so I only got to dabble a bit, and Runescape. Both EQ and Runescape have attempted to suck me into oblivion however, I have 3 boys (8,3,and 6 weeks) and I'm still able to tend to their needs. So to any naysayers, it can be done :D Parents can game and still be wonderful parents. To anyone who thinks parents shouldn't game- I say why not? It's a nice way to unwind- parenting is a lot of work!
