It Made My Day

Jess

A manager in my office who is known for being serious and disagreeable, came over and stared at my co-worker 15 minutes after said co-worker’s shift ended. He stared for 30 seconds before saying, “Why are you still here? I can usually set my clock by the SWOOSH at 2pm when you leave!” IMMD.

He “stared at my co-worker for 15 minutes after said co-worker’s shift ended. He stared for 30 seconds before…”

Which one is it, 15 minutes or one-thirtieth of that?

    • Rafi says:

It’s not well written, but I’m sure he meant that the boss stared at the co-worker for 30 seconds. He did this 15 minutes after the shift ended.

    • kelly says:

She didn’t say FOR 15 min after the shift ended. She said that the boss came over 15 min after the shift ended and stared at the employee for 30 seconds. So to make it easier for you, let me put it this way: The employee usually leaves right at two. At 2:15 the boss came over and stared for 30 seconds…….

    • MLD says:

It doesn’t say stared FOR 15 minutes. It says stared 15 minutes after the shift ended. Worded badly, but not contradictorily.

lmao! sounds like me at the last place I worked…couldnt keep me a second longer than necessary!

  3. Joshua says:

Why should they, when they aren’t paying you for it?

Pay me longer hours, i will work longer hours

  4. ninny nonny says:

I’m still confused by this one. Did the author not like the co-worker more than the manager? Or did it make there day that the manager was being the prick that normally are?

  5. Thomas says:

Funny, my boss normally has to shoo me out the door.

    I’m psychologically off, though.

  6. Lexi says:

    Is your co-worker a superhero?

  7. agresif says:

Boss is an idiot. I can’t see how this made your day, so you’re probably an idiot too.

  8. Voice of Reason says:

    Poorly worded… Funny as hell!!!

  9. fail sauce says:

He was trying to throw off the boss’ timing and therefore able to leave earlier every day

  10. theRealTeapot says:

I thought that only my boss could be used as a time keeping device. As the lowest payed employee I am frequently reminded when it is “beer-o-clock” and expected to fetch.
