It Made My Day

April

Today, I found that my dog had spent the entire night defending my escaped hamster from the two cats who want to eat him. I like to think that they are an adventure team now. IMMD.

  1. Dalton says:

that is fucking awesome! i always knew cats were evil

    • TCRegan says:

So because the cats were going with their natural predatory instinct, they must be evil? That’s sound logic there, buddy.

      • Amber says:

Oh get life and stop jakcing off over everybody elses fun you ass

        • t09 says:

You’re the one who should get a life uneducated douche

        • TCRegan says:

That was barely coherent. Try again. This time with a dictionary and proper grammar.

          • lucy says:

I think having animal species as evil or good is too black and white. And when people do say one way or another are usualy either little children or basing their desicion on some event in their past. For example I tend to dislike cates due to never getting along well with my mother’s cat when I was little.

      • Surlyredhead says:

Aw, come on now TC, they weren’t putting the cats down, they were praising their dog, good grief, get a life!!!

        • TCRegan says:

I wasn’t replying to the original poster’s account of his/her dog saving the hamster’s life. I think that’s quite commendable for a dog. I was commenting on the untrue, blanket statement of ‘all cats’ being evil.

Though I’m not sure what commenting on a forum has to do about getting a life. Unless you’re implying that by commenting on said forum means that I do not have a life. In which case, you’re quite the hypocrite, aren’t you?

      • DJR says:

TC, I believe what our esteemed friend was trying to say is that nature is stupid. I think that is something we can all agree on, yes?

    • moobus says:

hey, not all cats are like that. my friend had a cat who used to rescue his hamster’s babies when they escaped from the cage. she carried them back by the scruff of their necks, like kittens.

      • MonaLisa says:

I had a Siamese that was best buds with my guinea pig. She’d get in his cage with him and they’d groom each other and fall asleep… IMMD every time!

      • duni says:

Once when my hamster escaped, we looked for him for a while, then figured he’d show up eventually. A few hours later my cat came into the room holding the hamster gently in her mouth with a look in her eyes of “Hey! look what I found!”

      • Jeebee says:

        Cat FAIL.

    • DJR says:

While gluttony may be one of the Seven Deadly Sins, I don’t think hungry cats count as being evil.

  2. MamaK says:

That is awesome, and if dogs are supposed to be as smart as 2 year olds, I wonder if I could get a 2 year old to do this as well.

  3. Hales says:

Next time on Sprocket and Spunky… The mystery of the floating felines.

  4. Eric says:

I wonder who has right to the screenplay….Disney would eat it up!

  5. ClockMenace says:

    Coolness!
On the contrary,my dog was the one attacking my hamster when he was in his ball.

    • tahrey says:

Dogs are good soldiers but aren’t particularly bright… and their eyesight is appalling. All he probably saw was “BALL!!” and chose to ignore the hamstery smell ;)

  6. yay says:

yay dogs defender of the weak fighter for the fuzzy

  7. Nenaah says:

wow! That is so so so so cool!

  8. Nenaah says:

Reading this made my day :P

  9. heather says:

In the words of the immortal PD Eastman…”Go! Dog, Go!”

  10. Nicole says:

Your dog is awesome! This is part of why I’m a dog person and not a cat person.

  11. copswife says:

I can totally see my dog doing this. Also, when I was a baby, my mom tells of a dog that saved our kitten. The neighbor dog, which had a history of killing cats, came running over to our kitten and our dog picked it up and put it under the porch.

    • tahrey says:

Yep, for this and the OP, misplaced parenting instinct FTW. Can’t help but agree with Nicole above, either.

And I’d so love to see this show on Nickelodeon or CBeebies or something ;)

  12. Black Ice says:

This made my day too. ^-^

  13. Emily says:

Aww! Good puppy! One of my cats just stares at the gerbils. When one got out of his cage, she ran to the door of the room and started meowing at me. Alert cat.

  14. The Russian says:

Coming soon to a theater near you

  15. LOLrus says:

    Bolt, speak!

  16. ThatGirl says:

My cat was nice to my hamster. He would always find a way out of his cage and she would go find him, and curl up in a ball around him until I found him.
One day the cat was outside playing when he escaped and then my evil kitty..well lets say I don’t have a hamster anymore.

  17. Saix 7 says:

    Bolt and Rhino!!!

  18. Str4y says:

    Dog vs. Cat debate aside…AWWWWWW!

  19. anna says:

    cute!
    i love cats and dogs.
but this one time, my very small hamster, Smoke, had just had babies( pet store lied!) and my cat decided that she looked tasty.. never mess with a mom! smoky went crazy, and the cat has scars and a fear of tail-less rodents.

    • Daggerman! says:

MEEEEEEEEAN!!! I wish I had a cat. All I have is two dogs who are afraid of whistling, wind, and apparently not vacuum cleaners and lightning. :0

  20. riley says:

woah hold on,tha same thing happened to my friend and noau im sspisus…

  21. Mudkipz says:
